Landstar vs Schneider Choice programs
#31
I don't think I would like leasing to Landstar these days. It sounds like they have gotten way too rigid. I like the basic system they have, but it seems that they have too many restrictions. I spoke with a BCO in Texarkana a couple of days ago. He has been with Landstar for about 8 years. I think he is happy with them for the most part, but he emphasized the anal way they do business. You are correct about Inway. Inway was a much better company before Landstar merged things into Ranger or under the Landstar label.

The person who told me he was charged $4000 by landstar to fill a load is not someone I have met. Like all of you I doubt the reality of the claim as he could have rented a truck to finish the delivery for a lot less.
Have not heard back from my friend who's truck was hit last weekend, will let you know when I do. Thanks for all the good info

If approved for both----go with schneider.....ive been on the schneider % program since it began. My best friend is with landstar(couldnt get on here becuz he left b4 this program started and didnt give a notice) from what i understand there are few 2.00 permile loads on landstars board(im not talking about loads that DO NOT hit the board) on schneider's i just checked and there are over 520 loads alone over 2.00 per mile. schneider has ALOT broader freight base....... for instance i took a load from olive branch mississippi to seattle washington 2.19 per mile(yes that correct) and out of tacoma i took a load to texas for 1.62.......... my friend was saying that california/west coast are places you dont wanna go with landstar cuz there isnt alot of freight out there which means the freight that is out there is dirt cheap!!!!!!!!!! go with sni.... better support and you dont have to talk to anyone to get a load,,,, just click and go.

Are the rates you are quoting net to the truck or gross before Schneider takes their cut? If so, what is the truck money?

yes the rates are qouted are to the truck...sni doesnt post the gross rate. The rates posted are including the FSC. You dont have to talk w/anyone< if the load is confirmed for p/u and delivery u can click the assign button and then at somepoint or another they will send it to your qualcomm(only downside). i usually plan myself out 3-4 days in advance, even though i come home every(or most) weekends.

or you can run mileage for .90cpm plus fsc |
