I often sit and wonder who was the first company to come up with this ripoff. Never heard about such a thing when I started.
I think the award goes to Midwestern Distrubtion, Fort Scott, KS or NAVL, Fort Wayne.

NAVL did it first and Midwestern followed. Remember the "You can own this truck for one dollar" plastered on the back of their trailers ?

It started in the 60's, no wonder you don't remember. FFE was also doing it.
