Default Lonestars not selling?

Was just thinking that I haven't seen very many of the futuristic looking International Lonestar trucks on the road. Are they not selling that well?

They had a delay in their supply schedule initially...that may still be an issue. Whenever I see a dealer ad in the Truck Paper, it's almost always for a day cab rather than a sleeper. It's a pretty small group of O/O's that are willing to spend $140,000 on a new tractor, especially in this economy. Internationals were never all that popular with that group...I imagine it's a slow process converting them over.

This is not a truck for everyday work. Drive it through rain or snow a couple of times and all that chrome won't look as appealing. I never understood the idea of using chrome on a bumper. Kind of beats the purpose of the bumper in the first place.

bumper |ˈbəmpər|
noun
1 a horizontal bar fixed across the front or back of a motor vehicle TO REDUCE DAMAGE IN A COLLISION.

I had a Volvo 770 once that had that string of lights below the doors and sleeper.
Road salt nails the backside of these, and then half of them don't work.
