But it has everything to do with securement of the tarp, which is clearly part of your load, and part of your vehicle. To quote you:

The same dangers exist of the strap being torn off due to being on the outside of the rub rail, whether it is holding down the load or holding down the tarp. A flying strap is a flying strap, no matter what it was holding.

What is weird is that Rev would actually keep that image in his mind of your straps outside the rubrail. I think he really luvs you :shock:

A flying strap is a flying strap, no matter what it was holding.
True, as my car could attest. It's like a rat-tail, only 1000 times nastier. Sad thing is, I didn't think it could do what it did until I reached my destination and saw the smack spot.

A good way to cut a tarp is to put a strap over it, bungee cords or rope is a far better solution.

As quite a few people here can attest to, I have a photographic memory, a firm grasp on the search function, and an uncanny ability to recall useless information at the drop of a hat.
