Tile would crack almost instantly from the changes in moisture, temperature, and vibration.

You have to use tile designed for exterior use. I have two or three tiles that I bought as samples last fall and have been outside all winter and have no cracks. There no thicker than a regular tile. If I remember correctly it's that they either have porcelain or don't have porcelain. I could see where vibration would effect the grout though, causing cracks.
Oh well just a thought.

You could use a silicone grout that has sand in it. They sell it at Cheapo Depot and Blowes.
If you place a hard surfaced floor, what will you use for sound deadener?

Rubber mat and then do a thick mud bed. We'd have to cut a hole in the roof for Rev to stick his head out though. He can then steer with his feet.

I dunno Rev, even w/ that foil insulation on the underside, that bare metal covered with black RhinoLiner sure sounds cold and rough on the tootsies . My preference would be a wood floor over insulation as it insulates (temp & sound) and looks nice, but... 8) 8) ...it's not my truck.

Have you considered linoleum over a insulated subfloor? I know it sounds like a cheap '60 kitchen but they have some really professional looking designs these days that look like tile, wood, RhinoLiner(? )

The major issue is that to do a wood floor properly I'd have to pull the dash just to completely remove the pedals, the shifter column, and to get to the tight corners under the dash. That is way beyond what I am doing at this point. The nice thing about what I am doing right now (and I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, lol) is that if I don't like it, I can always undo it or hide it. Even if I decide to put down a completely different floor later, the RhinoLiner will be easily hidden, and will simply provide another layer of sound deadening. The body shop told me about these painted stainless floors they have installed. They have the rubber underlay for insulation and sound deadening. Perhaps some day I will do that as funds allow. The interior is not my major concern right now, and the stuff I'm doing is simply something to kill the time while the truck is being done.

I called the body shop this morning, and the truck is in the paint booth right now. The cream color is going on today, and the black will be sprayed on Monday. Reassembly will be on Tuesday, and the truck should be ready to be picked up on Wednesday. My air line box to run my hoses and cable between the tractor and trailer will be ready later today. I stopped by this morning to see the progress on it, and it looks fantastic. I'll cut the holes for the air lines and power line this weekend, and give it a coat of primer, and a few coats of rattle can satin black.

Put in some shag carpet. Brady Bunch style. Oh, I forgot, you can then get down and do some "shagin" on the floor with the ladies. Excuse me ladies, but I normally don't use that kind of language.

LOL

I picked up my metal box that will house my power and air line connections today. The guy did an awesome job on it! Much better than I was expecting. Total cost: $50 (since I used scrap sheet metal from the light bar blanks to make it). The cheapest one 4 State Truck has is $185 plus shipping. Tomorrow, I'll be cutting the holes for the connections, cleaning, priming, and painting it. Dang, I'm tired. This vacation stuff sucks.
