Wait one minute Mister! This is an internet message board. I get to wildly throw out suggestions that I am certain will work and demand you comply without any financial obligation. By the mere fact that I appear on a Message board means I know more than anyone in the world.

I have faith that you can handle that little project one weekend with a rattle can. I might even bankroll this part of the project.

You're too funny.

The more I look at those headlights, the more I wish they wouldn't have centered them on the fenders. I don't know - it might be an optical illusion due to the fact that there is a gaping black hole in the middle where the grill is supposed to be, but they just seem way too far apart. I suppose it wouldn't be a terribly difficult job to have them move them closer together - just unbolt them, fiberglass in the holes they made, respray the fenders black, and drill new holes further in. I guess I'll wait and see, but the more I look at them, the more I think they should have made them off center on the fenders.

Rev Said
They informed me that I have gone over budget. I'm not happy about the late notice on that, especially since it's too late to undo stuff.
Wait til they get it all done, then jack 'em up about the cost over run, otherwise they may get a "screw it" attitude and just slam the rest of it together half assed.

It's gonna look nice, no doubt about it. 8)

I was watching Convoy this evening, and I happened upon a truck that really reminded me of what mine looks like (particularily the headlights, and how far apart they are): A Diamond T Model 921DFN from the 1950's:

Maybe I ought to put that single horn right in the center of my cab roof too. :P

I think you may be over thinking it Rev. They look good centered, it only looks a little funny because it's not completed.

Roll with it lowrider. 8)

Noon tomorrow it will be finished. I spent the day working on my shiny new deck plate from 4 State Truck, and putting the finishing touches on my air line box. It now has 4 coats of paint, and 4 coats of clear on it. I still have to cut some notches out of the deck plate, but I will wait until I have the truck so I can measure that exact. 4 State Truck told me that I needed to drill holes through the deck plate to mount it, but I like the idea of having hidden hardware better, so I modified the mounting system slightly so that I don't need to drill through the deck plate.

I'll be heading back down tomorrow morning. From what they said, it's pretty much finished already. They were finishing up the grill when I called, and the bumper, extra lights, and visor were already installed. The air cleaners got wrapped today, and I'm assuming the rest of the graphics go on tomorrow. Many pictures forthcoming. 8)
