Exclamation Need Trucks or Deadheads for Tornado Relief Item Transport!

Hey There Truckers and Truck Owners! I need your help, big time! There are some wonderful people in different areas of the U.S. that have been having item drives and collecting relief items for tornado victims. One problem...they don't have anyone to move the load to areas hit hard by tornadoes recently. Here are three people that need someone to deadhead their loads:

1) James (creator of the Facebook Page “Magnolia Relief”)
404-625-0172 or [email protected]

James has collected 90 boxes worth of items for tornado victims and needs a truck to transport these items from a storage unit in Newnan, GA (4046 GA HWY 154 Newnan, GA). He would like to get them to Tuscaloosa, AL as soon as possible.
He needs to get 45 boxes to:

Tuscaloosa Convention and Visitors Bureau
1305 Greensboro Ave
Tuscaloosa, AL 35401

And another 45 boxes to:

Graves Hall
C/O Chi Sigma Iota
902 University Blvd
Tuscaloosa, AL 35487-0231

James says he probably only needs a box truck to do this job, but if you can get him a semi he will fill that with other supplies, too. No refrigeration or special needs for the truck. He has friends to help load in GA and unload in Tuscaloosa. I'm sure a deadhead would be great, as well. Please call or email James if you can help.

2) Carol
616-291-0410

Carol, bless her heart, has worked hard to collect furniture, clothing, toys, and other relief items for tornado victims, but she needs a 24 foot straight truck, at a minimum. The items are in a storage unit in Wyoming, Michigan (kind of confusing that the city is Wyoming and the state is Michigan). She has permission to have the truck loaded right from the storage unit and she can find friends to load, if needed. Carol would like all items to go to Christian Service Mission in Birmingham, AL (the address is 3600 3rd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35222 and their donation hours are 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., Monday through Saturday. They are closed on Sundays). No refrigeration needed. Carol is able to work on your timeline. Also, since it is through Christian Service Mission of Birmingham, you can write off the deadhead trip on your taxes (some paperwork/signatures required). Please call her if you can help. Her husband used to be a trucker so please hook this nice couple up.

3) Shannon
[email protected]

Shannon needs a truck that would be loaded from her house in Alabaster, Alabama and going to Hackleburg, Alabama. Hackleburg’s town was hit REALLY hard by the tornado. Shannon would love for the relief items to go out as soon as possible, but she can work with your schedule. She has a couch, loveseat, table, chairs, mattresses, bedframe and a bunch of smaller things so she would not need a large truck. A deadhead would be great or a 16 or 18 foot truck. If you can help, please email Shannon.

Please help these good people to help tornado victims. There are so many victims left with nothing that could use these items.

If none of these locations work for you but you would like to help, please email Toomer’s For Tuscaloosa at [email protected] or contact via Facebook at “Toomer’s for Tuscaloosa Cause” or “Toomers Deadheading Trucker Connection”. Toomer’s for Tuscaloosa can coordinate the loading and unloading if you can help move the load. If you bring donations to “Christian Services Mission in Birmingham, AL you can write off the deadhead trip on your taxes!!! (Some paperwork/signatures required).

God Bless and God Speed!

Sarah
