OOIDA Call to Action - New Mexico Members December 3 , 2007 Attention Rio Rancho truckers!! The City Council is proposing an ordinance that could have an effect on you and your livelihood!! The ordinance would establish parking restrictions for commercial vehicles on residentially zoned property. To put it simply, they want to prohibit you from parking YOUR truck at YOUR home. Their idea of a suitable compromise is to ALLOW you to put a garage on YOUR property large enough to house your rig (provided it meets city code, of course) at your expense!! OOIDA member Jean Montoya is spearheading an effort to oppose this ordinance and she needs your support. Please call and write your council member to let him/her know you oppose this ordinance! If at all possible, please plan to attend the next city council meeting which will be held December 12th at 6:00 p.m. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Jean at 505-994-2872. Contact Information: Rio Rancho City Hall 3200 Civic Center Circle, NE Rio Rancho, NM 87144 505-891-5004 505-994-2557 (fax) Mayor Michael J. I do it all the time, Allan  Of course, we're not talking about the same thing lol.
I agree, I've gotten hassled a few times from police moving people, even though its mostly senior citizen neighbors who think they own the block

I'm all for it if they'll pass the legislation. I see no problem with it, especially in rural/less populated areas. The best solution would be a piece of county property on the edge of town and throw some gravel down. That would be a win-win. I get tickets with my bobtail in front of my house for 5 min with the flashers on, so I'm just bitter
