Default O/O job description

So, I'm trying to wrap my head around what O/Os do, aside from drive a truck of course. I poked around in some books and on this forum. Here is a list of general things an O/O has to do everyday. Please add to this list or make corrections.
⁃ Taxes
⁃ Find Loads
⁃ Maintenance
⁃ Insurance
⁃ Permits/forms
⁃ IFTA
⁃ Accounting
⁃ Billing and collections

Am I missing anything?

Its according to if you are going to operate under your own authority or lease to a company like us who leases on owner operators. If you run under your own authority basically yes you will have to do everything listed above and much more including finding your customers and freight to haul. Also you take on the credit risks involved by extending credit to your customers and hoping they pay you in a timely manner, if ever at all. Plus It costs quite a bit of cash to get started on your own when you have to have your own authority, bond, cargo and general liability insurance, truck insurance, tags etc.
When an owner operator leases on with us, we provide all the general liability and cargo insurance, you run under our authority. We extend credit to any customer or broker(pending credit check)and we pay our trucks the next week after you turn in your bills to us no matter when or if the customer pays us. And we also find the loads, provide all plates and tags, all billing and collections, ordering permits etc. Pretty much we take care of everything and will even lease you a trailer and finance out any accessories you may need amongst your first several weekly settlements. You just drive and keep your tractor maintained.
