Default O/O local fuel haulers

I was just wondering if anybody has any input on what a guy hauling fuel locally would Averege? I live in Madison WI and I talked to a guy who would hire me as a company driver making decent money and I could stay on with him as a driver but he said he likes guys to become o/o after learning the business for a few years. He said his guys leased with him haul 2-4 loads a day avg 150-200 total miles a day and make about $8000 a month. This seems low to me before all expenses are payed. Just looking for some insight.

VERY LOW. Here in the northeast there are very few guys doing fuel hauling, not only is the rate low the hours will $uck, the O/O is the one usually working nights and weekends.

Figure it out 1000 total miles a week= at least one tank of fuel at around $700, not much left out of 2 grand is there?
