How used and what price range are you looking? I'm probably going to dump a '98 in the next month or two. If you don't go to CA, it's in great shape with low hours.

does cali have stricter rules for reefer?

I take it you haven't been running reefers over the past few years. As of Jan. 1 (unless they extend again) no reefer 2002 or older can operate in CA without an approved emissions upgrade. This involves either installing a DPF which run $5-6000 installed or replacing the engine. Not sure about the cost of that...thinking it's $8-9000.

Cali, requires a CARB registration & 2" numbers placed on each side of the reefer unit. I paid $5500 last July for the installation of the required trap for my 2001 TK eng to meet the new rules 1/1/2010...2002 and older need retrofit w/TRAP devise.
