I made $19,117 (income after expenses) from Sept 8th to Dec 31st. So, I'm looking at roughly 75-80,000 for the 1-year lease.

How's your maintenance escrow?

Mine sucks. But I also just spent $14,000 on drive line from the rear structure to drive axles.

Because I have a new truck with a 1-year lease, the maintenance escrow is low - $81 per week. The longer term, the higher the maintenance, but also lower truck payment.

Tires, brakes, lights, oil changes etc don't care if it's old or new.

I am guessing they have you only at 3 CPM for maint? Seems really low. Buddy had egr/dpf issues on a 2012 Pete with Cummins isx. $18,000 in 6 months. Yes, they got him out of that truck and moved into a new one.

Still just trucking along. Everything is going about the same. Everything is paid at the end of the week and I still have a better paycheck coming in than when I was a company driver.

Still doing good. The truck is making me money every day, and that's what's important. Starting to think about what to do at the end of this lease in September. Seriously thinking of leasing one of their "gently used" trucks through it's payoff. If not, I might go with a 2 year lease on another new truck, but with an automatic in it. Word is that those are averaging just over 1mpg higher than the 10spds.

Getting ready to do my taxes. The company that Schneider provides free for our first 6 months will do our taxes, but because I didn't start until September, they want $200 for doing them. That alone isn't bad, but I've ran into issues with that company pretty much from day one. So, I'm not too keen on trusting them to do the taxes. If they can't enter my month to month stuff correctly even 2 months in a row, why would I think they can enter something as important as my taxes? I bought Turbotax Home & Business (I've always used Turbotax for my personal taxes).

On my 1099 from Schneider, my income was just over $56,000 for the period of September 18th through December 31st.

Good! But why don't you consider jus to get a new truck for another year? In a mean time put aside... let's say 10% of your gross income, and in a couple years you could get your own new truck. About taxes...I'd definitely recommend you to hire a professional CPA, this way you won't loose any money, or get in trouble with IRS. It's not all that expensive, if we are talking only year end 1040. I'd say $250-500...
