I just got Direct TV as i was tired of paying $57 for basic cable to Comcast but a good rain storm which is every day right now in South Florida and you lose signal. I wasn't expecting that.

Merrick, where in So FLA do you live? My sister spent 15 yrs in the Ft Lauderdale/Westin area before moving to Atlanta. I used to visit her and go diving off of West Palm Beach. I wish she still lived down there...I miss the easy diving.

No I meant at home. I personally don't even watch tv, but for the family you know.

I live in the same area Geomon, well a little north, technically North Broward. Weston is real nice. Dan Marino has his house there, well he's trying to sell it but bad market.

I have basic cable at home with Comcast for $14.90 per month. I'm pretty sure most states are right around there. I just checked and Florida is $12.50 for basic with Comcast.

I have a commercial grade plasma TV. I get 211 channels with my basic cable subscription. A little unknown fact is that commercial grade can decode a lot more channels then the basic TV.

Well when I said basic I meant one up from the bottom. Basic is just local channels and a few other things added in. The one up was what I was paying $57 (including tax) a month. That has no premium channels whatsoever. I don't know how you get 211 channes with basic cable, but I don't have plasma tv's in the house either.

Ok I just checked for my zipcode. Basic is $14.50 and Standard, which is what I had is $52.95. So with tax $57 and like I said, I wasn't getting no 211 channels that's for sure. Directv is much cheaper. Funny i was driving through the hood somewhere in Miami and they had this little dingy building and every unit had a Directv dish hanging out of it.
