Single Axle dump truck in St. Louis area
First off I just want to say I not a rookie. I have almost 20 years of driving experience and 8 years in a frameless dump. I am wanting to make the move for myself into the owner/business owner side of life. I am looking to buy a single axle dump truck or 2 ton pick up dump truck. My question (if there are any on this page from the St. Louis metro east) is what are the going rates for a small dump truck per hour or bid by a job as a whole? I don't wanna price myself into bankruptcy but, at the same time be competitive with what is out there. Also what is the bread and butter in the winter for these small trucks if anything? The frameless dumps ran year round doing something or another. I have contacts in the construction/excavating industry but, I don't really want to ask them for accurate info. I have been told 80-100 dollars an hour plus any handling of materials at 50-75 dollars. Plus any material cost or dumping fees. The source I received this info from was questionable as to their knowledge. If there is anyone in the Illinois/St. Louis Mo. area that can give me a general idea of rates/ect. I would appreciate it. I would like to advertise for rocking driveways and such at first but, naturally I'd do whatever paid the bills. Thanks in advance!

80.00hr for a single axle?? Sounds like BS to me. We were getting 80/hr for tri/axles dumps. That haul 23 tons at a time.
