i hate to start a whole new thread just to ask a simple question but the few people i know didnt have a clue...........

Ive left Schneider and am removing qualcomm, stickers, etc..........

when i take the stickers off it looks as if they are still there(the outline)

whats the best solution i can use without harming my paint to get it off??

Anyone who has changed stickers on there truck know what im talking about....

Go to a decent hardware stor or paint and body shop. Tell them you need something that will remove decals, without hurting the paint. There is a spray on material, that does not affect the paint...but I forget it's name. Either type of those business should be able to steer you to it!

 

Vegetable oil will work for residue. You have to realize that you will always see an outline, since the paint underneath the decals were not exposed to UV rays for how many years?

 

Only really 2 ways to solve the problem.

1) New paint job

2) Put new decals over top the outlining

 

Agree with last two posts, the "shadow" will always be there short of repainting. For decal removal, a heat gun or even blow dryer makes the job easier.

 

Once you get all of the residue off you may get some rubbing compound and use it over the area. The outline comes from the sun and fading. That is the only thing that I can think of that might help. Once you use the rubbing compound use a good was and buff it out. Hopefully, it will get rid of it.

 

yeah i used some wax and it removed the dirt and stuff....... but the wax worked real good...ive got a metallic green truck so past stickers show up really good.....someone told me alcohol at one time a few years back, but i didnt have any alcohol.
