You should be buying a used flat, so much cheaper, that interest rate is insane!

You could always stick to hauling canadian loads, there are many guys in canada who don't leave the country.
Buy a set of super B flats and start hauling across canada or even a 5 axle flat and haul in ontario, at least you would be home more.
lease on with laidlaw hauling dry bulk tankers, they have pretty good runs hauling to concrete plants

You barely take a day off, its not right to have to be homeless and car less and work 7 days a week, to survive.

I know - I found a very decent 2007 Wilson flat near Toronto ON for $17,000. It looks barely used. I emailed the financial company asking if they'd allow me to do this trailer swapping deal with a used trailer. If everything else fails, I can always keep the step and maybe just turn the fixed tandem into a 10'1" spread with a slider. That would help me carry more loads. Will see on Monday what GE Canada says RE: used trailers.

I wish you the best of luck Tracer. Of all people I'd hate to see you out of business. Definitely enjoy reading all about your adventures. The load you took to the Island had me on the edge of the seat rooting for you... lol

woot woot.

Have fun out there

That's what I think life is all about. It should be an adventure and it should be fun. Imagine yourself 95 years old sitting in a chair near the fireplace, an oxygen tank strapped to your side and the grand-grandkids ask, "What did you do when you were younger, grampa?" If you say, "I was an accountant and made a lot of money", that won't impress them much. But if you say, "I was a long haul truck driver and travelled to every corner of US and Canada in a big semi truck," that should get them excited. I love watching small kids turn their heads after my truck and then tug on their mother's skirt and point excitedly at my bright yellow rig But in order to stay in this adventure, I naturally need to be in the 'black'. So I'm cutting expenses and trying to increase my revenue. Thanks to Heavy Duty for comments about LTL opportunities and how I can get more profit out of every mile.

Are you going to cross at Portal or Emerson? I should be home all weekend in Winnipeg, although I may be busy.

I wanted to cross in Portal SK but I'm stuck in Fargo ND. I-94 is closed and I-29 is open only till Grand Forks. I'm not sure about Hwy 2....

I think you meant Grand Forks not Great Falls.
