Is there any tanker company out there hiring
Is there any tanker company out there hiring experienced owner-ops at this time. Either food or chemical and NOT Kenan Advantage.
I know times are tough but there has to be one or two decent ones looking, or even maybe's will do.

Or Bork Transportation..also out of the Chicago area, Bork Transport - Home Page Either of them MAY be hiring. Also....Trimac.

Yeah thats what I was told as well. I am on the same street as Altoms drop yard here in Hammond, just enough to keep alive.
Talked to my buddy at Heniff and he's just hanginn in with his 2 trucks. Put in apps anyhow at Heniff, Bork and Trimac just to see but, I am already sure of what I am going to hear. I run dedicated from chicago to evansville for Alcoa with hard carbon pitch and we were doing 4 turns a week for them until they cut production and we were cut to 3 days. Since they shut Maryville and another in TX they are shipping their carbon block from those plants up here hence, the cut in production of block in evansville for some time. Now this coming week we have been told we are only going down with 1 load. Just not gonna cut it anymore. Wished I lived near Robbinsville NC, there is a small tanker company that is hauling animal fat to feed plants and bio fuel plants and he says they have more work than they can handle but he doesnt want to grow bigger than what he is. Claims his top O/O grossed 254,000 for 08 as a single not team. Other O/O's were 200 and above. Says he'll call as soon as he has an opening but who would want to quit making that money. Question is do you ride the storm out and stay put or try like hell to find something else before there is no return.

Though some are able to get their work. Have you enquired with your terminal management as to where trucks are needed in the advantage system? Have you found any of the milk haulers in your area? Western Dairy Transport has been taking on trucks. But their closest terminal to you, which is also their corporate headquarters, is Cabool MO. Western Dairy Transport, LLC

We are a subsidary of Kenan(BXI) and none of us have ever been offered anything within the advantage system which pretty much stinks as far as i'm concerned. I have talked to DFA down by Fair Oaks Dairy in Renessalaer IN and they dont expect things to pick up until May. You have to have your own authority and tank and be contracted to them. So far thats all I have found in my area but I know there has to be more around. I am going to send an email to western just to see if they come up my way. Kinda cool they have terminals in Stephenville TX and Roswell NM if you get into the ufo thing like me...LOL

Well Dover Chemical in Dover Ohio shut down their operation, Dover transport, Dana has taken it over, BUT did not take the owner operators that were there, at least not yet, not sure if they will either, since the Grove City terminal hasn't been doing much lately. I still say now is NOT the time to be job hopping, BUT, no sense going down with the ship either. Give Crestwood a call, can't hurt. Dana lost some Dupont work in Nitro to Miller, kind of hurt Nitro a little bit, but Miller still has to wash at Nitro.

I didn't know there was anything around Belle. Didn't know that Dana had anything around Washington Works as far as tank wash goes. Here is a "scarey"ad! News Flash!!!!
