What could you have done with the capital investments you made in the truck, trailer and time if you didn't use it to run to break even? Bottom line breaking even is a loss

I suppose you're gonna tell everyone about my $1.50/mi load of 3 little pieces to get me home for the weekend too, huh Big Shot?
Sure....tell everyone on CAD... Just don't tell them about my $3/mi backhaul to the coast  So...I read the rest of this thread after I got excited and saw my name mentioned... PROFIT I don't pay myself a wage/mi. I can't consider what's left to be a profit if I pay myself a wage in that too. If i have a house, a car, or buying a bag of M&M's off a charity at a truckstop on the road, I can't consider that an expense either. Whatever is left after fuel/truck repairs, tolls, lodging, etc etc, that's my profit. Whatever I have going on outside the truck like hobbies , kids (if I had any), or housing isn't a factor in how much I made. Everyone has their own math, and whatever works for one, may not work for another. When I tally up my receipts at the end of the year, and subtract that from my 1099, I get profit.
