The tax forms are actually very simple for sole-proprietors. So is the accounting, and the money trail.

Money goes into X account.

You pay expenses out of X account.

money flow in - expenses = profit = taxable income

Of course, that's neglecting depreciation, which is goofy IMO.

I think allan wants to go work for the IRS or something. If it ain't on a tax form, it doesn't exist!
Please refer to page 3 of this topic and my post with IRS links.

Thank you and have a nice day.
Well, now that you blew that theory out of the water for him, I guess it just comes down to not earning enough to pay yourself a wage.

Nice try

http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/...179118,00.html

They're talking about two separate businesses, not the same one. In other words, you would not use that form for both being a sole proprietor AND statutory employee. Either one or the other.

Damn, you guys. You know, if you go to Google images, there are naked girls on the internet! I mean, you could polish your tanks, or something. When's the last time you tried tossing M and Ms in the air and catching them with your mouth...something!

I'll try a different tack

If you're trying to decide whether or not you'd make more as a company driver or an O/O, how would you make the comparison?

The correct answer is: If your name is on the door, you are making more money.

I'm laying in bed, suffering from allergies.

What's my excuse?

I'm just plain fat and lazy!

Man I should get on the road, I think I've only done something like 52,000 miles this year.
