You can get injectors at most any truck parts stores, such as Fleetpride or Truckpro. Most parts departments in major dealerships also sell injectors. I have actually purchased some CAT parts from a parts store or truck dealer for less than I would pay directly from the CAT dealer. Just because it has the CAT or other name on the part doesn't necessarily mean that it is made by that brand.

That may be the source of the problem. The newer injectors have very tight tolerances. Make sure the filters are never pre filled!

I've never had a problem with petro-canada fuel.

I think I actually saw technicians fill them with fuel before putting them on the truck. But if they don't pre-fill them, will all that air inside be in the way of the fuel trying to get to the engine?

If you pour the fuel in the center hole it's filtered,if you pour in the side holes it isn't.

There is a small hand pump on the engine that will allow you to pull most of the air out of the line on a CAT engine. I have not heard anyone change fuel filters without putting either transmission fluid or fuel into the system. Otherwise, you will just be pulling air.

There's no hand pump on my BXS CAT C15.

There may be an electronic lift pump, I know the ISX's have them. I'm not sure. Best is to talk to cat see what they say about it. I do know the ACERTs are definitely not supposed to be prefilled, same with the ISX engine.

I have 3406E's. Perhaps they changed the design. Like Allen said, you may want to check with a CAT dealer and see what they say. I have a "go to" guy at my local CAT dealer that I call any time that I have a question about my engines.

I do have one, on the same engine. It's just a specs difference.
