2 months? That didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would. Now this crap company get there stuff hauled basically for free for 2 months, gets their truck payments made for 2 months and makes an extra 1k just so you can have the pleasure of returning it to them. That truck in turn will be given to the next guy in line that also can't see the forest for the trees and the vicious cycle restarts. It's nothing against you. these companies are vultures.

Default I will never get it?

Why does ANYONE ever think a Lease Purchase could be A GOOD IDEA? Every add I see in every paper says (insert company name here) has the BEST program in the industry.

If there are hundereds and thousands of these L/P deals out there, how can they ALL be the best?

Why would anyone want all the extra headaches being a L/P Operator? For less money than a company driver I might add.

Look at your self in the mirror and be honest. Instead of blowing off in the truckstops on how much money you "Say" you are making...Which when we throw in Personal income taxes, insurance, retirement, savings, workers comp. etc, Anyone with common sense knows your not "Bringing Home" what you say you are. We're just setting back laughing at you making an ***** out yourself.

And if your plan is to not pay your income taxes well good luck on that one.

People get involved in these fleece purchase deals because they want to be an owner operator but don't have any money or credit to buy. They also want the prestige of owning the truck. Most who get suckered into these deals have little or no experience in this industry. By the time they get it figured out they are in worst shape than when they started with these companies.

Dollarshort, I am by no means an expert here, but I don't believe all LP programs are scams.

My previous employer had an LP program. It was only available to drivers with more than one year's experience. If I remember right, they required you to go through a small business course before you actually got the truck. I know a few guys who went that route, and most seem very happy with it. There was a one-time $1,000 fee paid to get into the program, and if at any time you decided to call it quits and turn in the truck, you could do so at no additional charge.

Certainly not the route I'd go, as an LP still seems like a conflict of interest to me...but I don't think every one of them is that bad....

Remember a company NEVER EVER does anything that doesn't benefit THEM first, they make money whether you succeed or you don't, actually they make the most when you fail.

Remember there is no Santa Claus.

Actually I wish enough people who were suckered by these scams would get one of those news shows to look into these scams, sure would be nice to watch all about Prime or one of these other low-life companies on national TV, like Dateline or 60 minutes, nothing like some national exposure to let everyone else in on this scam.

Top two reasons to sit tight right now. I do know it is S-L-O-W for flatbeds right now. Bro in law and Father in law both sitting for days on end saying "no to cheap freight"

I do most of my work on my truck so I avoid high mechanic $./hr. Major engine/tranny I leave to experts.

I am not saying they are all bad. I'm just saying it's benefitting to company way more than the driver.

I don't try to ruin your gig but i don't think freight for flatbeds are as solid as it used to be.The whole economy is in a big slowdown, especially in construction type industries. But you never know!

And that's a very good way of putting it. I completely agree!
