I dropped down I-77 out of WV yesterday, and ran straight into a cluster bunch on NB I-81. The cb was screaming about wrecked trucks and spilled fuel...anyone in the mess???
Lovely weather yesterday!!

We had a truck stuck in Ruckersville for a day. Snowed in. Finally delivered then bounced 120 miles in the wrong direction to reload steel in Roanoke for a 5pm Friday appointment. Turns out the freaking paperwork wasn't ready so it was over 700 miles home empty.

Lovely weather yesterday!! Before I got to that mess there was another jacknife back up farther north on the southbound side, about 3 miles before that a Vlovo passed me going atleast 60-65mph,when most of us were doing 45-50,as I was slowing down for the backup I look in my mirror and I see the truck behind me sliding sideways and about ready to plow into the back of my flammable tanker :? .So I let off the brakes and let it roll a little bit to stay ahead of him and he gets it over onto the shoulder and passes the cars stopped in the right lane. When I make it up to the accident site there is the Volvo smashed into the back of another truck that had jacknifed,I left my name and number with the cops and told them of how stupid he was driving before that.

Glad you got through it Ok there Mike. I was ratrher amazed at the numbers of wrecked trucks I was seeing on the drive down I-77. I was headed to Wilmington NC, so only saw the back up that was right there at the 77/81 interchanges, but plenty of trucks were dropping down 77 to cut across to 85, so they could get their loads delivered close to on time.
Sorry to hear about the 700 MT miles Rank...at least the truck made em in 1 piece!!

Oh well. My fault for violating my rule: Never DH in the wrong direction to PU a load from a new (to me) broker. |
