Who wants to be the first to have this system
I don't have back doors or I would sign up for a try.
Transparent truck system could save lives | Crave - CNET Some people have way too much time to think about safety, why not work on a way to put common sense in drivers?

I think that it would be more of a distraction than a help. I can see someone watching the video and all of a sudden the truck locks it down. The care behind plows into the dot bumper. He is watching the video rather than the trailer lights.

The idea is good but I'd look at it from the commercial angle instead of the safety angle. The projector should show not just the road in the front but a ... movie. The car that follows the truck flashes its headlights a certain amount of times to choose a movie from the list that shows on the rear doors on the trailer. Blink once - you get Selection #1, blink two times - you get Selection #2 and so on. After choosing a movie, the driver holds his/her credit card out of the passenger window and the car must be exactly 10 feet behind the truck with the car's speed matching the truck's speed within 2 miles per hour. After the card's read by the truck's processing computer, the movie starts. The projector in the truck should start only after sun-down and the car with "viewers" must be within 10 feet of the trailer bumper to avoid free movie watching by other cars.
Each car should also have something like this on the rear window, so that cars behind Car #1 could watch the same movie. This way everyone could make money. Car #1 pays $20 to the truck, Car #2 pays $15 to Car #1, Car #3 pays $10 to Car #2 and so on. An obligatory funeral car would be the last in the line; no movies on the rear window of this one. With this technology in place, there would be no "are we there yet?" comments from kids in cars.

For Pete's sake...
THEY CAN'T SEE US NOW, AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BECOME INVISIBLE?????? And, I can also imagine the maintenance of that system. Oh, yeah..... What would be the cost of replacing that video screen every month... or so... Even just on one door...

That would be kinda scary. Especially at night. :hellno:
That reminds me of Best. I think it's Best. Their back door is painted. It looks like the trailer door is about half-way opened.

The only time I could possibly see this giving even a remote benefit would be on a two lane road that allows passing. On the other hand, that would just encourage improper passing because the common four wheeler would wait til they were too close, at which point they probably aren't paying attention to what's on the side of the rig.

RED GOLD does that.

It would be weird to come up to that truck at night. You see headlights facing you, and tailights.
