$25 PM would be bare minimum on that, if I wanted to get outa the state and not break down the trailer or deadhead because I had a good paying load I was going to.
Last year I averaged $58 PM on all miles run (Loaded and empty) and would sometimes come home to Fl. from the left coast empty.
Like Heavy Duty said there is a big investment riding back there behind the big investment in the tractor, I'm very lucky in that they are both all paid off , and I don't put it all back together for nothing. A load across town, or local, has to pay at least $450 PM or it's not worth the hassle.
Last year I pulled two loads from Ft. Myers Fl. to the Tampa docks that paid $425 PM and was happy as he11 to get them both off. By the time you mess with permits (If I remember right, without digging in paperwork, were about $$5000) Pilot cars, FHP escorts, Florida Power and Light etc. they were hardly worth it.

YES SIR!!!!!!!! What a pain in the ass, espically in Florida since even though you have permits and escots (no FHP on smaller dimension lds) it's still a bitch getting that 100KLB + load moving again at each stop.scale/ect ect.... and I'm sure you have enjoyed the common snapped u-joints and twisted driveshafts along the run which wind up costing you over $1000 each as well?by the way, i'm sitting on my load right now in Ft. Myers as we speak... err type

Where did you load in Ft. Myers ? You at the Pilot ?? if so my truck is just down the street from you at Pete In there getting everything changed, fluids, something that happens twice a year.
I have often wondered how many zillion gallons of fuel the state of Florida wastes with making us stop at all the scales and bug checks to get outa here, 9 from Miami to Al. line on 75 & 10.
Been lucky (touching wood) that havn't dropped a driveline, when I got the truck took it to a place in Tampa and they built double wall drivelines with 2400 sieries U joints. Replaced the joints last year even though they wern't showing much wear.

i`d take the load from iowa to wisconsin because its less then 400 miles, i`d stand to clear 8grand in two days and an easy run back north once I broke my trailer down sop I could probably get at least 2 loads if not 3 of the 6 their offering., that one to texas sucks though

wonder why they want a 9 axle trailer though, i`d had stands and a blade loaded on mine and its only a 7.

Probably because the agent has no idea what he is talking about when it comes to weights, most of them don't Some will list them as trailer axles and some total axles.
If I recall, don't have my book here to check, both Ia and Wi are the standard 20,000 lbs per axle. Wi depending on bridge

I'm actually pulling van in the winter months, and I unloaded at the Wal-Mart DC in Arcadia and picked up a pre-loaded there and took my break in Punta Gorda before heading back up to Chicago and got home last night.

I only do HH in the summer time (April-Sept) and run wind blades and the occasional generator from Houston Harbor to NW Indiana.
