Default Go Make your own dirt??

Once upon a time scientist said they could make humans now and did not need God for anything anymore. So they went to God and said they could make anything and did not need his help. So the scientist reached down and grabbed some dirt and said to God, hey watch what we can do with this dirt. God said, " Thats my dirt , you go make your own from nothing and don't touch my stuff.

It is just a thought.

I have my beliefs. But I don't go around professing (bragging) them. I'm the guy that kneels at the back of the church, striking my breast......

I believe in God, that Jesus died as a substitute for my sinful, pathetic tail end and that the Holy Spirit watches over me.

It's my choice to believe, as much as it's a non-believers choice not to believe. Each must make that choice. If someone chooses not to believe, I don't sweat it. Live and let live is a philosophy of mine.

Another way I look at this subject:

If I go through life believing in God and find out when I die that God doesn't exist, then what did I really lose in the process of believing?

If I go through life not believing in God and find out when I die that God does exist, then what did I really lose in the process of not believing?

This is very well spoken. Enough said!!

Having a religion and worshiping to whomever you wish does not affect me. Will not hurt me by you believing what ever it is you do. There are how ever people who take this to another level. What I don't like about it is when it's pushed onto other who don't want to take part in religion. They are looked at and played to like their freaks. Not cool in my book. I'm not forcing you to not believe I'd thank ya kindly not to try and force me to believe. I understand not everyone is this way. But I'm also quick to say that a huge majority is. There are a few good apples in the crowd who don't, or won't force any belief onto anyone.

These are my thoughts, and you have the right to agree with them, or reject them.

Does anyone remember being born. Because I don't remember getting the Contract stating that being born(brought into this world... um... breathing air.. um how ever you'd like to say it) automatically binds me to Devoting my life to "INSERT GODS NAME AND RELIGION HERE" Seems kinda selfish doesn't. "I DIDN'T ASK YOU IF YOU'D LIKE TO JOIN ME.. BUT NOW THAT YOU HAVE.. YOU MUST SERVE, BELIEVE, AND DO AS I SAY OR YOUR SPENDING YOUR BETTER DAYS IN HELL" Wow.. gee thanks for giving me the option. Brought into the world with no choice now it's YOU OR HELL ?? Again.. thanks for the options.

I'm a believer of the big bang or something close to that. We didn't evolve from apes or the such... OK... so the pictures found on cave walls and the such were what. Oh yea.... think i remember reading about that.. they were drawn by the local wildlife. Adam and Eve must have been hard at work... to get the whole world populated. With humans that is. And that brings up another great question. Does that mean were all related?? Guess I'm dating and having adult relations with my cousin or sister, aunt maybe??? Explain to me how that worked out. Earths pop of over 6 billion all started with just 2 people???? Science has proved that inbreeding produces bad results for the most part. I'd like to believe that yea... we started from goo... some way somehow all the right ingredients came together to jump start life as we know it. But i can't prove to you that that happened.

With all that said I do believe it's good for people to have faith and believe what makes them happy. Even if they believe to the point their convinced of it. So be it. Rather they do that then line my neighbor hood with crime and what not. Maybe there is a god, but maybe he's not involved like everyone thinks??

Last thought. For those of you who do believe in whatever, cool that great. For those of you who believe but also respect my opinion and desire not be force fed why I should believe.. thank you. This topic could go on for ever.. bottom line... do what ever makes you happy so long as it doesn't affect the person standing next to you if they don't want it. Good luck

Sorry - I must have misread your post-What I was saying is that the Vast majority of people believe in God.

Is that true?
Only about 33% of the world is christian. Since the question was asked, it seems, in the christian context wouldn't it be a fact that most people do not believe in God?

It is a fact that most people do not subscribe to the christian view of god.

If you're talking about in the world, you're right. But if you're talking about the United States, the percentage is in the 70's or 80's, at least according to an article and poll I read last fall. Most people might have a different view of what God means to them, but the majority of Americans to believe in some form of the Christian God.
