Missing Persons Report,

What happened to Headborg. What's happening over there at Heartland. I've hit a couple of stagnant weeks at Crete. This economy thing is starting to hurt a little.

Last week I ran into a driver that runs out of that terminal. He lives in Sacramento and he said he gets thru there a lot. Whatever that means.

My last day with Heartland was--- October 7th, 2008. With truck broken down only 15 miles from the house and needing to be towed into Dealership for repair- Breakdown did not think it was financially practical to have me put up in a Motel in West Plains, Mo while truck was being repaired. ( Hey, I agreed with that). Was told to wait at home until they located another truck they could 'offer' me, I declined that 'offer'.

And so ends-- the Shaffer-Heartland Chronicles.....and as General MacArthur sorta elluded to in his farewell speech..

"Ol' Trucker's Never Die, They just get New Petersbuilt... " or something like that....
