When I left salt-lake they had just ran out of Volvos, so they where talking about putting new hires into the Freightliners that are sitting at the lot waiting to be sold... temporarily until they got more Volvos. I have heard nothing of new Freightliners. Although there is bitching and moaning about the volvos being way to heavy and also cheap pieces of crud. Maybe they listened and are getting freightliners to replace the Volvos that they got to replace the freightliners? haha Plus they did tell us not to fuel at swift any more... I'm with an owner-op now though so that doesn't affect me.. I'll let you know when I upgrade.

Cockroach; Only 15% of ALL Lease Operators make it through?
I wonder what the percentage is at C.R.England? Or Prime Inc?

So people say things in the trucking industry can go from great to crap in just a matter of minutes, this is so true.

After my last post I had a bout a week of great running, I slept so well we had no shipper or receiver complications at all, no wrong turns. It was just cool, then I got my load to come home. I swapped trainers in ohio and took of towards denver with the new guy (who was really cool) when we got to denver to grab the home-load the truck broke down =\ at this point I was lined up to get to utah on monday, upgrade tuesday and be home by thursday morning. Well a company driver was supposed to pick me up and drive me to utah since my truck was broke. Well this guy took of without me and left me stranded in denver over night but our dispatcher found another driver to pick me up.. now I'm one day late =\ on the way to utah we end up missing our exit and so it takes us a few extra hours to to get to utah... =\ once in utah its so late that I can't upgrade (everyones gone home) But its not all bad, I've got some friends in the area and we get some drinks. the next morning I do my upgrade and pass it all great, so I go to get my truck, yay they have 8 at the terminal.. but they are all in the shop =\ they won't be ready until the next day. That really screws me because I have a military drill and would arrive a day late for formation. They spend several hours trying to find me a ride to home but the one they could find the driver refused They do find me a load that would get me there on time but can't find a driver to take it until the next morning which would make me late also. In the end they got me another greyhound ticket (ugh!) but the trip was not nearly as bad as the one down to utah.

During the whole ordeal my newly assigned fleet manager, the regional, the manager of fleets, and the equipment guy where all very very helpfull. 3 of them stayed after an extra hour to make sure I got home in time.

Nothing that happened by the way was central's fault but everyone involved did everything they could to help.. The plan as it stands is to fly me to a location with a truck when I'm done with my hometime so as it stands I am now officially a solo company driver but without a truck.

Yes, I am back in for a day after two weeks out there with him. His name is Justin Smith and we are doing great. One of my biggest concerns was my somewhat messed up left knee....Justin taught me how to shift the tranny without a clutch and I am doing much better!!!!

Two more weeks to go!!!

Im training with an O/O who has a Freightliner Columbia. Which is what I learned in, and took my CDL test in too, so the Volvo will be alot different for me.

Im ready to get the training over with and get out on my own though. Time to put up or shut up as they say.....LOL
