Pretty bold statement coming from somebody who has never even held a steering wheel yet.

You've never driven a truck before, right? She was asking for opinions from experienced drivers, right? So where do you fit in?

Someone made a post awhile back here about summit....decidedly negative...I have a friend(imagine that) that got 'approved' and stood them up for 'orientation'--well, tried to postpone it a 2 weeks so he could get his 'vacation' pay out of Westside Transport first----it pissed Summit off so bad--the 're-evaluated' his conditional acceptance.

do a search here on the board for Summit and you'll probably find it.

found it:

Not everone is a wise guy

Its difficult to get an answer you can bank on at a internet forum.

It seems with trucking...people are either hopping from the

frying pan into the fire...or trying to get from the fire back into the

pan....

Seems a mad rush to nowhere

Where I work rumor has it we get a scale model truck as a gift of appreciation....thats why I am staying

Summit wants you to run legal..at least on paper. Last year, the only thing you were required to log were fuel stops, tolls that you wanted to be reimbursed for, and any DOT inspections or if you got a ticket. They didn't check to see if your Q-Comm matched your logs. My logs may not always have matched my Q-Comm

They broke my balls. They fired me for going 35 in a 25. I had a lawyer take it down to a parking ticket within 20 days. When they let me go, I told them it would be taken care of and they should just suspend me as I will be returning. They didn't seem to care. When my fuel card stopped working, I knew something was up

Locally, we also have Transport America, J&B Trucking, and a few I've forgotten.

Default understandable

I realize that every trucking company advertisement is the same "WE ARE THE BEST" "IT'S LIKE A FAMILY" i know thats a load of BS ..Thats the only reason i figured you'd get more of a honest assessment from people who had first hand experience with Summitt ..I also know that if a few people say it sucks you may not want to put stock in what they say but if the majority says it's a crap place to drive for then maybe he should rethink his discision ..I know taking any new job is a crap shoot ..But in life ya gotta roll the dice ..i was just seeking feeback
