Hi EveryOne:

I am new to the board. I love the Oneness of your community and how this forum is set up. My name is Melody and I live in Northern Cali. My son in law is an owner-operator who carries heavy steel framing all over the western region. Because he is faced with driving against extreme weather conditions, he asked me (the compu geek) to see if I could find information about this apparatus (?).

I have been searching around for pricing and while I understand such a unit will save money in the long run. I was wondering what your experiences are with the APU.

Does one buy one to comply with Fed and State Regulations?
Can anyone refer me to the most comparable price and models?

Also, I have a little experience with IFTA, although I am quite certain someone here will help me at some point as well.

Thank you for reading my posts.

I send my love and light and wish each and everyone prosperity.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

APU's are a great device. If you don't understand exactly what it is, it is a generator that provides electricity to run heat and air conditioning. It runs off of the trucks own diesel, and burns much much less fuel then just letting the trucks engine idle to do the same function. Also most good APU's also recharge the trucks batteries, keep the coolant at proper temps, etc.

The most widely used is Probably TRIPac. They are quite expensive, but for a Solo driver who drives OTR, it will easily pay for itself.

As I sit looking all around,
Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
The answers are there,
But I do not know where.
Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt
