fuel in oil
after hitting 1 million miles last week without ever having any work done on my detroit, yesterday i got my first breakdown in over 7 years. my truck started running rough. like if you had a spark plug wire off on a gas engine. i took to shop & we checked the oil. it was overfull by 2-4 gallons. truck will be looked at by friday hopefully. shop mgr said sounds like injector leaking down.(this may explain why it was hard starting during cold months) anyway.. you can smell fuel in the oil. no doubt that was losing it's prime & causing the rough shake when trying to excellerate. could this be just an injector bad or injector sleeve? or can there be many more things that can cause fuel to get in oil ? what would be the worst case senario?

its probably an injector like the dealer said, tell them to check the dead cylinder regardless, if it wasn`t firing because it was overrich you could glaze over the cylinder, and if it was firing off a massive amount of extra fuel you could`ve melted a few parts.

...other failures are possible, but unlikely with a s60

no black smoke at all. it did emit light white kinda like fog out exhaust. & you could smell fuel. but what i found strange in on way to shop the truck would run (seem to run ) great at highway speeds & have good excelleration from 1500 rpms to 1850. but below this it would shimmy & shake. in fact, i had just unloaded 100 miles from home & everything was running smooth until i got off interstate on local road that i noticed the shake & miss when trying to excellerate. would it be better to replace all injectors ? or just fix the defective one or it's -o- ring ?if thats the cause ?

these are all original injectors. put in at time truck was built. 1995. this engine has never had anything done to it ever. except overhead & thermostats. unless you count belts, hoses, couple sensors. same crank, mains, cam ,bearings,e.t.c. i have up until this breakdown done great on m.p.g. 6.0-7.0
