Due to continued growth, we are currently accepting applications for Local Truck Driver CDL B Route Delivery Drivers to work in our distribution warehouse in Portland, OR.
Compensation - Seasonal Pay Package
Approximate annual salary $45,000-$55,000, including U/E benefits and/or bonuses:
- Permanent, Part-Time position - Work while schools are in session
- Work 8-9 months out of the year; remaining time off, eligible for unemployment
- Summer break: June through August; Winter break: mid-December through mid-January
- Up to $3K bonus annually, paid out 3 times:
- Safety bonus paid BEFORE winter break
- Retention bonus paid AFTER winter break
- Safety bonus paid BEFORE summer break
- Hourly wage of $26.50 per hour (higher rate to compensate no benefits)
- Typical work week is 20-40 hours per week
- Overtime paid after 40 hours per week
- Bi-Weekly paychecks
Work Schedule
- Work 1-5 days per week; Days may vary Monday-Friday, no weekends
- Flexible schedule options.
- Obtain work schedule 10 days in advance
- Start time typically 6am; work until work is completed, usually 10-12 hours per day
- Make 8 stops per day on average
- Potential of 1 overnight per week; potentially 5 overnights per month (stay in hotel with $50 per diem)
- Route delivery, driver unload using lift-gate
- Touch freight, push/pull 300 pound cases of books up and down handicap ramps
- Inside delivery into elementary school storage rooms and/or libraries
Responsibilities
- Multiple-stop deliveries in 28-foot with a liftgate
- Backing in and out of docks
- Drive CDL trucks to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations
- Provide excellent customer service
- Checking mechanical aspects of the vehicle
- Reporting maintenance/repair issues on tractors and trailers
- Excellent customer service skills: communication with customers and being the "face of the company"
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year local CDL B route delivery experience or 40,000 miles, experience with touch freight and/or food industry delivery is preferred
- Current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug and criminal background screen
- Hold a valid Class B Commercial Driver´s License, with air brakes endorsement
- Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses
- Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
- Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
- Be able to push, pull up to 300 pounds with no assistance
