Job Overview: We are hiring CDL-A drivers for a dedicated regional route, primarily hauling bananas, with occasional loads of pineapples or plantains. This is a no-touch freight position, with drivers moving 40' containers on chassis from our drop yard near the Wilmington, DE port to various customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pull loads from the Wilmington, DE drop yard and deliver to locations such as Bethlehem, PA; Elkton, MD; Rocky Hill, CT; and Brooklyn, NY.
• Perform drop and hooks or live unloads at certain locations (i.e., Brooklyn, NY; Reading, PA; Jessup, MD).
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain clean equipment (slip seat environment).

Miles & Pay:

• Average Miles: 1,700 per week.
• Average Weekly Pay: $1,596 per week.
• Average Annual Pay: $85,000 per year.
• Bonuses:
  • New Hire Transition Bonus: $500, paid in full on second paycheck.
  • Referral Bonus: $3,000 (paid $1,000 on second paycheck, $1,000 at 60 days, and $1,000 at 120 days).
• Accessorial Pay:
  • Drop and Hooks: $8.30 each.
  • Stop/Live Unload/Live Load: $40.50 each.
  • Delay Pay: $17.00 per hour after 2 hours at live unload/live load.

Schedule:

• Drivers start between 5 PM and Midnight and work 6 days a week, including weekends.
• Home daily after each dispatch except when running the Brooklyn, NY lane or due to delays.
• Home Time:
  • Typically home after each dispatch except for Brooklyn runs or unexpected delays.

Equipment Type:

• 40' containers on chassis.
• 2023 Kenworth T680 or 2024 Freightliner Cascadia Automatic.
• Slip seating arrangement.
• Truck Speed:
• 65 MPH pedal and cruise.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: 6 months of recent container experience.
• TWIC card required (drivers without one must obtain it within the first week of hire and will be reimbursed after 90 days).
• Comfortable with late evening and night driving.
• Willing to run in a slip seat environment and keep the truck clean.
• Hiring Area: Within a 50-mile radius of Wilmington, DE.

Other Information:

• Drivers are required to go out with a trainer to learn the account before they can run solo. Length of training depends on driver's performance and trainer's evaluation.
• No pets, passengers, or smoking allowed in trucks.
• Dedicated carrier for Chiquita for 18+ years; flexibility with changes to lanes is necessary.
