Are over-the-road drivers better off today than they were one year ago? ?Yes indeed!? according to drivers for Roehl Transport. With a dramatic increase in average annual wages over the previous year Roehl driver incomes outpaced the cost-of-living by almost two to one in 2004.

National fleet drivers who have been with the company at least one year averaged $49744 in 2004 a 6.2 percent increase in annual earnings compared to a 3.3 percent increase in the cost-of-living. Drivers who have been with Roehl three to five years realized a whopping 17.7 percent increase in their income in 2004 an $8600 jump due to a combination of pay and mileage increases.
