Jacobson Transportation raises pay again for Company Drivers & Owner Operators

By: Jacobson Transportation

In recognition of the efforts made daily by its driving force Jacobson Transportation has added another pay increase to the many reasons to join this growing company.

“The people who service the customer by picking up and delivering products day in and day out deserve this raise” says Kirk Jordison Jacobson’s Director of Driver Services.  “They’re more than worth it and we’re glad to be able to pay more.”

For Company Drivers base pay increases by 2¢ mile for all miles loaded and empty effective Thursday April 5 2007.  All “Years of Experience” and “Million Mile Club” increases will remain on top of the base pay rate.

The pay for regional company drivers start at 35¢ per mile with 1-2 year’s experience. For 3 year’s + experience pay starts at 37¢ mile.  OTR company drivers with 1-2 year’s experience start at 33¢ per mile; for 3 year’s + OTR experience pay starts at 35¢ per mile.

Last August Jacobson raised owner operator pay up to 90¢ per mile and is excited to announce another pay increase.  “Now we’re adding another cent per mile for all loads that pick up starting Thursday April 5 2007 and we’re adding additional raises over the next 6 months totaling 1.5¢ per mile.”

According to Jordison these raises offer the opportunity for drivers to take home more money while still running the type of freight that best fits their needs.  “And due to our adjustment of our long haul and regional strategies the Mileage Variance Plan (“MVP”) will continue to pay an additional 16¢ per mile for all loads that are 101-200 miles long and an additional 25¢ per mile for loads 0-100 miles” says Jordison. “Our commitment to professional drivers is to continue to provide a stable place to work and the opportunity to make a career here with Jacobson Transportation Company.”

As a growing carrier Jacobson is always looking for qualified dependable drivers. “As you can see we continue to improve in all areas of concern to drivers. It’s important to all of us at Jacobson to keep our drivers happy” Jordison says.
