CSA and Termites

Not much in
common huh? Other than they both will erode the foundation of your business.
You can’t educate the little bugs to get them to do the right thing but
drivers dispatchers mechanics and management are not bugs.

Every time I look at CSA scores of a company I can tell what managers and
owners are doing about CSA. When scores are high it is because the company is
spinning CSA to fit their take on the trucking industry. Now I really don’t
know if the reason for that is greed ignorance or just plain arrogance but
what I do know is that all three of these reasons are BAD. Definition of Bad
not acceptable!

When a shipper OTR LTL Manufacturer or other is forced to look at CSA scores
by their insurance group that insures his company they are looking for BAD.
When they see BAD they will eliminate BAD or BAD will eliminate them. When all
companies are finally scored by the FMCSA and all the BAD companies have been
identified the BAD companies will be put out of business by the FMCSA. All of
the employees who sat and watched their company continue their BAD ways will be
on the unemployment line.

Oh you say your company will just change when it gets caught. To change your
company will have to be re-scored by the FMCSA. Well by the time they get
re-scored there will be no money in your company’s Bad checking account. To
date seven months into CSA only 15% to 20% of carriers have been scored. If
your company has to wait that long without cash flow they won’t be around for
another CSA scoring.

Company employees will either watch CSA padlock the doors at their company or
join the unemployment lines because the company they work at will have no BAD
freight for the company to move anymore. That will be BAD you think?

The company’s who have good CSA scores make more money than anyone who has BAD
CSA scores. Trucks that are moving will always make more money than trucks
sitting on the side of the road being inspected.

I would suggest you get your butt moving and educate your drivers your
dispatchers your mechanics and your management about the real CSA. If you
don’t things are going to get REAL BAD for you and your company much faster
than you think. Everyone who works for a company has a responsibility to make
sure the company is operating correctly. The company’s who take of their own
take of themselves. Take care everyone because I am also afraid that America
might not be able to take care of all of you.
