Todd Dailey Wins Chrome Shop Mafia’s Sweet Freedom Truck on Midnight Trucking Radio Network

Arlington Texas – November 28 2008: Todd Dailey of Monticello Georgia was announced winner of the Chrome Shop Mafia’s Sweet Freedom Custom Truck Give-Away during a live broadcast by the Midnight Trucking Radio Network on Monday November 24.


In early 2008 Midnight Trucking Radio and J.B. Hunt Transport teamed with the Chrome Shop Mafia for the largest promotion in the radio network’s history awarding a fully customized Freightliner Century Class truck valued at $100000.  The truck was christened Sweet Freedom for its custom stars-and-stripes paint job and bears the name on both sides. The former J.B. Hunt fleet tractor was unveiled in June embarking on a nationwide tour including the Great West and Great American Truck Shows to showcase its new look. Additionally the truck toured almost 100 TravelCenters of America locations gathering entries from class A-licensed drivers. It was at the nearby TravelCenters of America stop in Jackson Georgia that Dailey submitted the winning entry only a few weeks prior to the random drawing for the truck.


The Sweet Freedom makeover included enhancements such as Firestone FS590 PLUS tires Centramatic wheel balancers custom Chrome Shop Mafia wheels and stacks seats and bumpers from Accuride and Bostrom The Enhancer Progressive Valve System from RMR Pro-Diesel Technology and an auxiliary power unit from Centramatic. First prize winner Darren Daggett of Queen Creek Arizona won a set of Firestone FS590 PLUS steer tires; second prize winner Chris Dunn of Louisville Kentucky received a leather Born to Truck jacket also courtesy of Firestone. Other major sponsors of the Sweet Freedom truck build included Howe’s Lubricator Freightliner Trucks Mobil Delvac and Panasonic products from Pana-Pacific.


Todd Dailey a former owner-operator began working as a company driver following the devastation of hurricane Katrina; now that he’s a truck owner again he plans to make his living with Sweet Freedom leasing with a local transport company.
