Transport America 2004 Owner Operator of the Year

By: Transport America

Eagan Minnesota ? Justice Bilson was recently announced the 2004 Owner Operator of the year at Transport America. Justice has been with Transport America since 1998 but he has traveled a long road to get where he is today; all the way from Ghana West Africa.

Before arriving in America Justice operated his own transportation business for 6 years in Ghana where he owned 4 vans making sure passengers arrived at their location safe and on time. After leaving Ghana for the United States Justice continued his transportation career in Miami running airport to airport for three years. This helped set up his move to become a Class A CDL holder and start driving a big rig which he has done now for the last 7 years.

Originally Justice was recruited by two trucking companies and was ready to go to orientation for both. He chose to stay with Transport America! Why you ask? ? I wanted to work for the best in the industry and that?s what I got at Transport America. TA was just a better company. My recruiter Rob helped me get into the right school for training which I finished early and then into a Transport America truck where I have been ever since.?

?Drivers like being at Transport America because we offer an environment that resembles a family we treat drivers with respect and we make you feel comfortable when doing your job. This is our key to success!? says Darin Degoey Director of Recruiting. ? Justice agrees and lets everyone he encounters on the road know that. ?What more can you ask for?? says Justice. ? Everyone is treated with respect and the culture is centered around team work so you can succeed.?

Along with working in a family environment and being treated very well Justice also has great home time. ? I am home whenever I want to be. The driving lanes are set up for weekly home time in mind.? Justice also enjoys no forced dispatch and all the miles he wants.

When not on the road Justice enjoys spending time with his mother Abe Eduah son Emmanuel Kobina who is 20 months girlfriend Dorcas Tiwah step son Agyiman sister Joyice and his best friend Scott who helped Justice come to America. Justice is very proud of where he came from and loves his family a lot. Justice also likes to listen to reggae music and watch soccer matches of his favorite local Ghana team The Accra Hearts of Oak where Addo his favorite player is from.

On his way to the Owner Operator of the year award Justice has also been the driver of the month driver of the year and has not had an accident for over 5 years. Next on his list is 1 million miles driven. Fleet manager Joe Kulos and Team leader Lisa Mathews have supported Justice?s success along the way. ? I love the people I work with they make my job easier. I would recommend Transport America to any professional driver looking at a company that wants to help you succeed and treat you with respect.?

Some wisdom from Justice Bilson sums up the situation perfectly ?If you want to be happy in everything you do in this world focus on the driving and respect your job. This gets you to happiness!? The same could be said for choosing which company you want to drive for and trust with your career.

These are just a few reasons why our drivers are happy and why we are continually rated as one of the best companies to drive for in America. Add in our solid commitment aggressive benefits programs and a supportive work environment and we think Transport America will be somewhere you will be proud to work. Ask about our OTR and Regional positions.
