<-- always learning new things. Curious on a quick question. what's the difference between a Standard 13, and a Super 13.
is super supposed to be more power? or something. I was always curious on that. (Only wondering because I have heard people say they have driven a Super 13. So there's a 9 speed, 10speed, 13 speed, 13 super speed, and the famous 18 speed. oh and the Automantic. Is there anymore out there? (the main ones that are on 18 wheelers that is). That's all my questions for now. =).

I can honestly say I have never heard of a super 13. There is a super 10 though for sure. A straight 10 has a splitter on the front of the shifter. You go through first five gears hit splitter and go through those five gears again. Super 10 does not have front splitter, the splitter is on the side of the shifter and you split all five gears as you shift them.

Looking at the roadranger website there is a super 13 and even a super 18. I have never seen one in the wild though.
I have driven a super 10, but didn't like it all that well. http://www.roadranger.com/Roadranger...ions/index.htm

I was talking to my cousin Saturday and this stuff.
He's an O/O and drives a Western Star with a 13 speed. He said the Super 10 is a pain also and a 10 speed is pretty good, but he prefers the 13 for all around driving. All this came about with my asking about the autoshift tranmissions I see advertised everywhere. :?

If you are used to driving "normal" 10's and 13's....a Super 10 will be a nightmare for a while....its diabolically different to shift....and like the other poster says....if you have to make a "fast shift change".....oooooh, what a pain!!! 8) It takes a good while to get used to one.....
