Default Drug Consortium.Does it get cheaper than OOIDA?

The consortium costs $100/yr plus my $50 membership.Lets say, I get 2 drivers, the cost will be $300/yr including me, plus $50 for myself and $10 each for the drivers. There must be a cheaper way to do this with another consortium.I also asked about the turn over rate of drivers in this business. If a driver quits within 3 months, you will have to pay another $110/yr for this other driver.....and so on.That is just pure money being wasted. They also adviced me to set up a company policy, where the driver will sign a doc. saying that if he quits within 6 months of driving for me I will take the $100 out of his last check. How many drivers would wanna hear such a thing.I was thinking the $110/yr will be for any driver and all I have to do is to call in with a new driver name and info and just keep paying $110/yr.I hope what I typed made sense.

There must be someone cheaper out there offering drug consortium.Concentra medical did refer me to another company but they wanted like $250/yr.Heck no!
There are many independents out there not doing it by the book.I am just trying to stay legal, but I wouldn't want to pay another $110 for every driver that I hire.

Check with some local agency's. I pay 100.00 per year regardless of the number of drivers.(make sure they are DOT qualified)

I use a company that does testing for local business. They also are DOT qualified. Check with your local hospital. Many do "random" for non-DOT business. Easy for them to do the same under DOT guidelines.

I just spoke to a local consortium in IL and they charge $75 a year PER COMPANY - regardless of the number of drivers. The guy is sending me their info over e-mail right now and their website is allabouttrucks.us

If you have more drivers, you might also check med-stop.com
I wanted to go with them but their consortium is for ompanies with more than 1 driver.

Default I found my answer

Thank you guys!
I thank you DM.I called med-stop.com
They do sign on O/O with more than 1 truck and for 1 truck they did refer me to someone else.I will stick with them since there is no fee to join the program. They only charge $60/random drug test, $35 for alchohol test and $50 for a DOT physical.
I don't think OOIDA canb touch this rate.
For an initial drug testing, I will just send the driver to CONCENTRA and I will let MED_STOP handle the drug testing.
I am not going to renew my OOIDA membbership/consortium fee next yr.

You need to see how often they pull a random. I met guys that get pulled every month which would cost you a lot more than OOIDA. There is a guy near the Ontario TA that does DOT for $30 and he looks the other way on lots of things.

Unless it is the company policy,DOT random is each quarter. Sure wouldn't want to be using someone who was "looking the other way". You're the one responsible for assuring the rules are followed.
