I am right out of school and still in training with Superior Carriers. I have been home every night. Sort of a pain actually since i live 1 hour away from the terminal but much better than sleeping in the truck with another guy. My trainer has been with the company for 10 + years and he told me he has never been out longer than 11 days. The average is 4-7. My terminal manager seems to be great about home time. I am sure its terminal specific. Another guy training now out of a different terminal is having a much different experience than me.
You will not be able to take the truck home so you must be near a terminal. Where do you live? I can look up the terminal closest to you in my handbook.

Looks like 3 terminals in Tenn. Call the one closest to you if its not too far to commute to. Set up an interview with the terminal manager. Each one has final say in who gets hired based on their individual needs.

I believe wysrob is referring to me. I'm out of Springfield terminal. I believe they only sent me out OTR because I could afford hotel rooms. Alot of new guys can't afford to spend $400-$500.00 for hotel rooms. We used company paid hotels when we could but alot of times we had to pay up front and wait for re-imbursement. I also think wysrob has 1 trainer. I have had 2, each trainer for 3 weeks. That was a litted difficult only because I had to learn to drive 3 different ways, 1 from school and ea. trainer. But believe me, this company was the right choice for me. I have never driven trucks and they took a chance with me and spent alot of money on me already and I plan on giving them my all. Everyone in the company from the guys at the terminal, to tank wash, school and dispatchers at other terminals have all been great people. When I train locally, they put me in the company hotel for the week. They litterally pay you for everything.
